Sunshine

I have become accustomed to the almost constant sound of rain on the roof day after day so it is a bit of a surprise to see the sun streaming in through the windows. This has sent me back to the cyanotype medium since exposure times are now of reasonable lengths outside. I have used a mix of printed digital negatives and real pressed flowers for the first time today inside a frame propped against the wall outside. There seems to be a lot of scope withing this combination. I'm hoping that through cyanotypes I can integrate some of the text that I have been gathering with the rest of the visual work. So there has been a lot of adjusting and resizing and printing. I have achieved a couple of pretty satisfactory results with a new kind of paper -it's quite encouraging. I'm going to do another batch of hand-coated paper this evening, in fact -it's good to have the combination of bright days and dark nights for all of this. Ideal cyanotype weather, it seems.
