North light

I have been in the Museum today again photographing a new selection of objects. There was soft north light coming through the window and I placed the objects on a glass display cabinet. This is one of the first outings for my new extension tubes. I'm not normally into close up photography but some of the objects are small and delicate and I felt I didn't want to miss the opportunity to look at them a little more closely so I used the shallowest extension tube. I really enjoyed photographing a set of colour tints for photographs: the bottles almost empty and were stained delicate colours. Object of the day was a set of bills and receipts formed over the years into an almost organic shape. I'm not sure how to photograph it -the weight and texture of the item was really unexpected. I'll have to figure it out. I eventually (and regretfully) had to quit when the light waned and my exposures were getting ridiculously long -can stop holding my breath now.
